To learn names of different family members (mother, father, sister, grandparent) and describe family using tener and ser.

Draw on board a family tree and elicit vocabulary:
madre y padre ------>padres
hijo y hija---------->hijos
hermano y hermana --->hermanos
abuelo y abuela ------->abuelos
tío y tía ------> tíos
primo y prima -------> primos
sobrino y sobrina -----> sobrinos
suegro y suegra --------> suegros
nuero y yerna
cuñado y cuñada -----> cuñados
After students fill out the family tree, fill out their own family tree (with part or all of family) and the relation to student (ej, hermana Bree, sobrino Kwane).
Next, students think of words to describe their family members and explain their family in a group.
Tengo una familia grande.
Tengo dos hermanas.
Mi hermana Alysha es muy simpática y fuerte. Tiene dos hijos muy lindos y a veces atrevidos.
Mi hermana Bree es trabajadora social. Bree es muy alta, interesante, y divertida.
