Spanish for Beginners

Class Content

A new Spanish for Beginners class will be starting January 14th, meeting weekly on Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm.

The class is designed for students with limited or no prior Spanish, and will focus on:

• Basic introductions and conversations
• Describing people and things
• Expressing preferences, wants, needs, likes, and dislikes
• Numbers, time, and money
• Speaking about the present
• Explaining "there is/there are"
• Common expressions

The class will last for 8 weeks, from January 14th through March 4th.

Class Pricing

The beginner series includes eight weeks of 90 minute weekly classes. The total cost for the series is $144, payable in one payment or two payments of $75 (total $150).

Class Content

This class, designed for kids who have little or no background in Spanish, will meet Friday afternoons at 4pm. Students will learn through storytelling, art projects, reading children's books, and songs. Vocabulary will include family members, animals, colors, numbers, basic verbs, and common adjectives.

Class will meet weekly starting January 16th from 4-5pm for 8 weeks through March 5th.

Class content

For students with a base of vocabulary and knowledge of common verbs and expressions, High Beginner Spanish will increase your vocabulary and cover:

• Common irregular and stem-changing verbs in the present
• Present progressive
• Speaking about the past
• Speaking in the future (using IR A)
• More in-depth conversations

We will use articles, listening exercises, songs, poems and various activities to practice reading, writing, speaking and listening in Spanish.

The class will last for 8 weeks, from January 14th through March 4th.

This Thursday night course will expand your vocabulary and cover:

• Irregular verbs in the present
• Speaking about the future (using IR + A)
• Comparative and superlative adjectives
• Speaking in the past using regular verbs
• Common expressions, phrases, and idioms

We will use articles, songs, listening exercises as well as writing and speaking exercises throughout the course.

We will meet Thursday nights from 5:15-6:45pm except for weeks of major holidays.

Class Information

This lunch-hour class will focus on Spanish for people planning to do business with Spanish-speaking countries, and will cover:

• Basic conversations
• Cultural differences related to business
• Business-related vocabulary
• Verbs: speaking in the present and making future plans

The series will meet weekly on Mondays from 12-1pm from September 29th through November 17th at the Denver Spanish House office.

Class Content

If you are comfortable with ser/estar, hay, common adjectives, basic conversation, regular verbs in the past and have a base of vocabulary, join the high beginners class!

We will build on what you already know, through:

• Talking about the future
• Learning common regular and irregular verbs in the present
• Expanding your vocabulary with cognates and common words
• Learning common expressions and phrases
• Practicing speaking in the past

This class will be on Tuesday nights from 7-8:30pm on an ongoing basis. We will not have class the weeks of major holidays.
