To practice the preterit of regular verbs talking about past activities.
Introduce that there are two types of past tense in Spanish.
Pretérito:

Go through common -ar verbs students know and ask them questions in the past to practice.

Go through common -er and -ir verbs and practice asking questions in the past.
¿Cuándo fue la última vez que...?
Students ask each other questions about the last time they did different things based on the prompts provided (attached).
eg, ¿Cuándo fue la última vez que cantaste?
Canté esta mañana en la ducha.
Each person gets the picture of a famous person (or can choose their own) and explains the activities of the past week while other students guess.
Viajé a muchas ciudades para conocer a muchas personas.
Hablé con la gente de la economia, los problemas del mundo y mi plan para solucionarlos. (Obama)
