Class Activities:
-Students reviewed a vocabulary list for Mexican Independence Day.
-Students learned about the popular music of Mexico, mariachi. We danced to mariachi music and reviewed our verbs.
-We read together the "History of Mexican Independence Day". We watched a video clip from the actual celebration this week in Mexico City.
-We talked about the "grito" (shout) that we will do at school in honor of the festival. It will take place this Friday at 1:10 at the Compass.
-Students were given maps of Mexico and marked the city of Dolores on it.
-They also made bell necklaces to bring to the "grito".
