Students arrived and presented the maps they had completed as homework.
Since students didn't know a lot about Spain, I presented information using photos, books, currency and other visuals for them to learn more about the country. We talked about regions, including:
* Andalucia, includes cities like Granada, Córdoba, Sevilla, famous for Moorish architecture and influence
* Cataluña (language catalán), includes Barcelona and northeast Spain.
* Galicia (language gallegos), includes city Santiago de Compostela, a city famous for being the end point in famous pilgrimage
* País vasco (language euskara): includes San Sebastián
We also talked about some important artists, including Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí.
Tarea: research something you're interested in about Spain, which could be sports, food, festivals, or anything else you'd like to know about. Write short text about what you learned that you will present to class.
