Class Activities: 

Students quizzed each other on personal dictionaries.

We had a visitor from Colombia to class today (Karina) who most students worked with last year when she subtituted for me. Karina is going to substitute for my classes while I'm out on maternity leave (roughly Thanksgiving through after holiday break).

To wrap up our Lucha Libre unit, students took turns explaining various aspects of Lucha Libre to Karina. They talked about the history, what it is, famous luchadores, and general tenents of the sport. Students then went around and talked about the luchador they had invented.

We are starting a new unit related to food today, and will be going to lunch on November 2nd at a latin-themed restaurant. I will be contacting parents to confirm our lunch out. Students worked in pairs and wrote down vocabulary related to the topic they were assigned (en la cocina, en el restaurante).

Tarea: students need to sit down for 10 minutes and write down every food they know, ideally categorizing them by type (postres, verduras, bebidas).
