Class Activities: 

Warm up: Students wrote for 5 minutes about the differences between Day of the Dead (coming up this Thursday and Friday) and Halloween and what parts of each celebration they like. Students shared their observations with the class.

We went over student homework and made sure students understood questions and vocabulary. This reading comprehension activity is from the Diploma de espaƱol como lengua extranjera (DELE) and the level of this particular assignment is B1. One goal of ours this year is for students to take an entire A2 or B1 escolar test and pass. Model tests are found at the DELE website.

Students made a big mind map using vocabulary around individual foods by category: postres, verduras, frutas, carbohidratos, bebidas, carne, productos lacteos.

Tarea: write short text describing Argentine food (for our Friday field trip). Include common foods and how Argentine fare is different than other South American countries.
