Grappa, an Italian liquor often enjoyed after a meal, comes in many interesting flavors like almond or chamomile. Uruguay has its own twist: honey grappa, or grappa miel. Not surprising that a country with a sizable Italian immigrant population as well as a wine industry that can provide the materials needed to make grappa, leftovers from the process of winemaking. Add to the mix a Uruguayan honey industry and voilà (or shall I say 'ahí está'): a drink is born. Many people find the taste of grappa quite strong, but the addition of honey really makes for smooth, sweet, tasty drink!
