Students arrived and completed the attached reading comprehension activity and went over it as a class.
I presented present perfect while students took notes. Present perfect is formed by combining the verb haber with a second verb.
he
has
ha
hemos
han
if the second verb ends in -ar, drop the ending and add -ado (nadado, viajado, trabajado)
if the second verb ends in -er/-ir, drop the ending and add -ido (vivido, comido)
He vivido en Francia (I have lived in France)
Hemos estudiado español en Argentina (We have studied Spanish in Argentina)
We use the present perfect in English and Spanish to talk about things that take place within a specific period of time. We often use the present perfect to talk about books/unique experiences/movies/trips. Ej. Have you read 100 Years of Solitude? Have you been to Arizona? Have you seen the Godfather?
Students had white boards and practiced present perfect given phrases in English.
We started a review jeopardy game where students started to practice verbs/pronouns/food/vocabulary.
Tarea: write down 5 unique experiences that students have had using present perfect.
He viajado a Argentina.
He estudiado latín.
