¿Cuál es la diferencia entre las frases abajo?

She cooks well. (Una afirmación general).
She is cooking dinner. (Una acción que está pasando ahora).

Vamos a enfocarnos en la formación de la segunda frase, que usamos para describir acciónes actuales.

¿Usamos el verbo ser o estar es esta forma?
Estar (porque estamos hablando de algo temporal).

Comparan todos los verbos que terminan con -ar:

hablar
estudiar
esperar
limpiar
cocinar
caminar
etc.

Primero usamos estar:
estoy
estas
está
estamos
estan

y después quitamos el -ar y agregamos -ando. Have students modify all the verbs they listed earlier (hablando, estudiando,etc.).

Then lay out a group of notecards with an infinitive verb and make sure everyone knows the meaning. Use verbs that are easy to act out, like cantar, bailar, etc.

In pairs, students take turns drawing a card (secretively) and acting it out and saying "¿Qué estoy haciendo?" to which the other person responds "Estas tomando una cerveza." Feel free to extend practice by having students confirm, Sí, estoy tomando una cerveza or asking a further question ¿Qué clase de cerveza estoy tomando? and the other person can make up answers to the questions.

Add in -er/-ir verbs once they are getting comfortable.

Homework: fill in attached worksheets and choose a photo (in class or at home) to describe with actions.
