Sorry Logan parents of high beginners for not posting last week! The other Spanish teacher had a family emergency and we had to combine our beginner and high beginner classes last week.
On Wednesday, students went around and had a conversation getting to know all students in the class. They wrote down the interesting things they learned about students. After students conversed with about 10 students, we played a game where someone gave clues and other students had to guess who the student is. Ej. Es una estudiante que tiene 13 años. Tiene un gato se llama Elvis y una hermana. Tiene ojos azules. We finished class with a memory game, where students had a minute to look at several items. They then had to write down what they saw with a number of how many they saw.
Friday: students had two activities where they had different information from their partner and had to share their information. In the first activity, one student needed to get the phone numbers of a list of people. Students practiced: numbers, spelling and addresses. In the second activity which was a bit trickier, students practiced family members, ages and professions. Each student was given a family tree and his/her partner had to ask questions to recreate the family tree including names, ages and professions.
Tarea: a few students who were not on task in my class were asked to complete the family tree partner work for homework. Students who were focused and doing their best in class don't have any homework.
