Logan intermediates 3/15/13: La Naturaleza

Class Goals: 

Students

Class Activities: 

Students received a drawing of a nature scene and they had to label various parts.

Students had 10 minutes to put together (armar) their book page.

Students continued to compete in our jeopardy game about nature vocabulary.

Tarea: study for test on Wednesday and we'll have a little end of the unit party. Vocabulary is attached.

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and we did a listening comprehension activity (level A2). We went over vocabulary and questions students had.

Students took a short test with vocabulary from their diccionarios personales.

We went over the conjugation for the conditional verb tense:

infinitivo + ía/ías/ía/íamos/ían

Tarea: students shoud memorize this verb conjugation and work a little more with their diccionarios personales to memorize vocabulary.

2nd Period Matrix- 3/15

Class Activities: 

-We reviewed the "La bonita Sara" song and phrases using the verb "tener" (see explanation sheet).
-We practiced using "tener" with different subjects, like "we", "they", or "she".
-We played a game using "tener" phrases.
-HOMEWORK: Students have a worksheet that is due next class (see attachment).

Before School: High Beginner 3/14

Class Activities: 

-Students in the salsa group presented their lesson today. We went over vocabulary, answered questions, listened to music samples, and watch a couple videos of the dances.
-HOMEWORK: Students should complete the reading on Flamenco. If you are in the Flamenco group, you should prepare to present on Tuesday.

3rd Period Matrix- 3/13

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed vocab words from the story we did last week.
-Students practiced conversation questions in partners.
-In groups, students put sentences from the story into correct order and read them aloud.
-Students began working on writing their own story in Spanish, similar to ours from class.
-HOMEWORK: Finish writing your story at home to share with the class on Friday. Keep it simple and use vocab from class.

2nd Period Matrix- 3/13

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed phrases from the story we did last week in class.
-We went over a new song, "La bonita Sara" that teaches about "tener" phrases (copies of lyrics are outside my room).
-Students practiced guessing the phrases I acted out, and also did this in groups.
-HOMEWORK: none
