Before School: High Beginner 5/7

Class Activities: 

-Students answered questions about the story they heard in class on Thursday.
-We reviewed verbs that were used in this story (see attachment).
-Students began writing their own stories using this format (see attachment).
-HOMEWORK: Students should finish their stories and practice them out loud at home.

Logan intermediates 5/3/13: La cocina

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and wrote the Spanish words for 10 foods on the board.

Students worked at their tables to come up with vocabulary related to food. We made notecards that we will use through our food/cooking unit, including dishes, utensils, fruits, vegetables, drinks, desserts, verbs and appliances.

Students had a few remaining minutes to work on the menu for their restaurant.

Tarea: be ready to film their short video on Wednesday. Bring props and costumes if necessary. For students who haven't handed in scripts, please email me.

2nd Period Matrix- 5/3

Class Activities: 

-Students matched changed (conjugated) verbs with the correct subject.
-We reviewed verbs in the present tense.
-We played a group game for practice.
-Students read about Cinco de Mayo and what it celebrates.
-Students tried cookies with flavors dulce de leche and guava.
-HOMEWORK: none

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed matching present tense verbs with the correct subject.
-We played a game practicing conjugating verbs in present tense for all subjects.
-We had a typical Mexican snack to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
-HOMEWORK: Students have a reading on Cinco de Mayo. There are no questions to answer, just do the reading (extra copies are outside my classroom).

Class Activities: 

-We reviewed how to match verbs to the subject of the sentence.
-We practiced doing actions and saying the verbs out loud.
-We played a team game to understand different verb endings.
-HOMEWORK: Students have a worksheet to complete for Friday (see attachment)

-Students reviewed present tense verbs we have used in class previously.
-Students received explanation sheets on how to match regular verbs to the subject (see attachments).
-We practiced changing verbs in present tense and played a team game.
-HOMEWORK: Students should write sentences in present tense using at least two verbs from each section (-ar, -er, and -ir).

Before school intermediate: mi vida loca 5/1/13

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and in 5 minutes wrote every word related to food that they could think of. We went over and made a master list of fruits and vegetables.

We went over our plan for remaining classes. Our last unit will be cooking and students will set up and host students in their own restaurant.

Students had the remainder of class to finish writing their script for their video: mi vida loca. We will be filming next Wednesday.
