Logan intermediates 5/29/13: restaurantes y clase final

Class Activities:

Students arrived and wrote an evaluation of the class -- what they liked, what they didn't like and what they enjoyed most.

Students presented their concept for their restaurant, including the name and what was is on their menu. We practiced a few phrases for students to use in conversations:
* ¿Qué vas a pedir?
* Quisiera...
* algo más
* buen provecho

This is the last Spanish class for the year. Students will hear on their 4th quarter evaluations what level I'm recommending for next year's Spanish class. Thanks to everyone, this year has been wonderful!!

Tarea: I expect students to know the 100 most common verbs (attached) that we've been working on and that they have written flashcards about. They should also know regular present and preterite conjugations, which we have worked on this year but they should start next school year knowing these perfectly so that we can spend less time reviewing:)

Logan high intermediates: repaso del año 5/28/13

Class Activities:

Today was our last Spanish class for the year.

Students filled out an evaluation of the class to give me some feedback about how the year went for them.

Students thought of 3 adjectives that describe each student and wrote them down on a card for the end of the year. We gave a gift to the students leaving Logan for high school who we will miss greatly!! For those who are staying at Logan, I'm excited to continue working with you:)

Tarea: Que disfruten de las vacaciones! Estudiar 100 verbos más comunes, traten de hacer cosas para practicar el idioma (mirar programas en español, practicar vocabulario, escuchar canciones).

Students quizzed each other on definitions of the 50 verbs they had made notecards about.

We played a game where a bunch of verbs were conjugated on the board in present and preterite. I gave English clue: she worked and students competed to find definition on board (trabajó).

Tarea: 50 final notecards of our 100 most common verbs. I expect students to have the 100 most common verbs memorized by the start of the school year in the fall:) Also for homework, students worked in pairs/groups to come up with a little restaurant for which they wrote a menu and designed a concept. Students are going to bring in their restaurant foods on Wednesday, and we are going to eat and practice conversations in a restaurant.
