3rd Period Matrix: Wed Sept 11

Class Activities: 

-We reviewed numbers and played a game for practice.
-Vikram led our first class routine.
-Students read about the history of Mexican Independence Day, learned vocab for this holiday, and looked through some photos. We also discussed what we do for our Independence Day with our families.
-TAREA: none

Logan before school high intermediate 9/10/13

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and wrote the names of the person(s) described below (from last class):

  1. Les gusta el chocolate y la carne.
  2. Le gusta Dr. Pepper.
  3. Fue a DC este verano.
  4. Está en la clase de Shae.
  5. Tiene 2 gatos.
  6. Tiene un perro y peces.
  7. Llevan lentes de contacto.
  8. Fue a Suecia este verano.
  9. Les gusta el teatro.
  10. Le gusta Nueva Zelanda.

We're doing a little initial review and students competed in teams with review information including:
1. personal pronouns (yo, tú, él, ella, usted, nosotros, ellos, ustedes)
2. colors
3. 10 things in the classroom
4. possessive pronouns (mi/s, tu/s, su/s, nuestro/a/os/as, su/sus)

tarea: In the pairs students were teamed up with, they have to prepare a 5 minute mini-lesson plus a short activity to practice about a specific verb tense they were given. Danielle/Portia --> preterite, JP/Juan --> futuro próximo, Lydia/Will --> presente.

Fluency level: 

Logan high intermediates: 9/5/13

Class Goals: 

Students shared what they'd like to work on this year and we talked about possible field trips this year.

Students interviewed each other and presented what they learned and listened to questions about each student's life and answered based on what they had heard.

Tarea: study the 100 most common verbs (just the infinitive English/Spanish definitions of the verbs) that we worked on last year.

Class Activities: 

-Students filled out a survey about themselves.
-We discussed expectations for Spanish class (see attachment).
-We played a review game.
-We discussed our daily routine for class which will be led by a different student each day.
-TAREA: Have your parent(s)/guardian(s) read the class expectations and send me an e-mail (kimber.strassburger@theloganschool.org)
