2nd Period Matrix: Wed April 23

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed the reading on "Tapas".
-We watched a couple video clips on Flamenco dance.
-Students paired up and worked to change the dialogue of the conversation between Juan and Maria. We will present them to each other on Friday. We will also start our books then.
-TAREA: Practice your conversation parts out loud at home.

Class Activities: 

Students labeled a place setting in Spanish.

Palabra del día: poner la mesa

Students played a game related to food.

Student had the rest of the class period to work on their artist presentation.

Tarea: Students could keep working on their presentation because they'll be presenting it after class trips. We'll be cooking tapas on Friday so meet in the kitchen.

Logan before school high intermediates 22 de abril de 2014

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and started cooking Spanish tapas. One group made tortilla española while the other made a bread/apple/bacon tapa with roasted red pepper cream. I had a quiz for students but wanted to give them time to cook so I will give it to them as homework next class.

We will be cooking with Kimber's class on Thursday.

Tarea: no hay

3rd Period Matrix: Fri April 18

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed basic vocabulary translating sentences from English. Students began making a list of simple vocab words that they need help remembering.
-We began working on the mini theater skits. Students are working in two groups on different plays in Spanish. We will practice more next week and present them to each other.
-TAREA: Students have a worksheet on important information about Spain. They may use the internet or the library to look up the answers. They should try to use as much Spanish in their researching as possible.

2nd Period Matrix: Fri April 18

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed past tense verbs in preterite and imperfect form.
-We finished the reading on "Tapas" together.
-Students practiced the conversation between Juan and Maria in partners, and then presented it to the class.
-TAREA: Students have a worksheet on important information about Spain. They may use the internet or the library to look up the answers. They should try to use as much Spanish in their researching as possible.

AS Beginner: Fri April 18

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed vocab from their flash cards.
-We finished our storytelling activity.
-TAREA: Students have a worksheet on trivia questions about Spain. They should look up the answers online or in the library. It is due next Wednesday.
