Class Activities: 

Students quizzed each other on words of the day.

We listened to a fairy tale (La bella durmiente) and students retold the story in their own words.

Students had a chance to practice their script and will present to Kimber's class on Thursday the 10th of April with props and costumes.

We started playing a review of the Dominican Republic game in anticipation of our new quarter starting where we will study Spain.

Tarea: students need to present how to do something simple to the class in Spanish. We're working on improving oral fluency, so students can choose something like "how to make a peanut butter jelly sandwich" or "how to do a yoga move" or something and explain it step by step in Spanish next class.

AS Beginner: Wed Mar 26

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed "A que hora vas..?" sentences with a worksheet (*please complete if you missed class).
-We practiced with present tense verbs.
-We sang a song "Tic Toc" for practice with time and present tense. Copies of the lyrics are in our class folder.
-TAREA: Students should study the verb changer at home to work with memorizing present tense verb conjugations.

We played a review game about the República Dominicana.

Tarea: print out a map of Spain and present two features (mountains, cities, regions, lakes, oceans, etc)

AS High Beginner: Tues Mar 25

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed use of verbs in present and past tense.
-Students practiced conversation in partners.
-The class was split into partners to correct each other's baseball projects. We will finish this on Thursday.
-Students will present the project of their partner in class on Thursday.
-TAREA: Study the list of vocab given on the baseball project.

Class Activities: 

I drew two faces on the board and students had to label some lesser-known features:

Students had a few minutes to rehearse their play. They will be performing the week after Spring Break for Kimber's class.

Tarea: practice lines for play. Students don't need to memorize lines but should know what they are saying and have clear rhythm and pronunciation.

3rd Period Matrix: Wed Mar 19

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed verbs in past tense and the common vocab we went over last class.
-We reviewed the endings for verb in preterite and imperfect tense.
-We read "Mi dia normal" about a boy's daily routine in the Dominican Republic.
-Students underlined the preterite verbs and circled those in imperfect.
-We played a game for practice with conjugation in past tense.
-TAREA: Students need to write their own version of "Mi dia normal", describing their daily routine. They can keep the exact same format as the reading.

1st Period Matrix w/ Kimber: Wed Mar 19

Class Activities: 

-Students took a pop quiz on the trivia of Dominican Republic.
-Students practiced conversation in partners. We reviewed the questions they should be practicing together.
-We went over the previous homework together and talked about answering in complete sentences.
-We began discussing how to change verbs in Spanish to match the subject. We practiced together in class with the verb "beber"(=to drink). There are 4 separate sheets to pick up from the folder
-TAREA: There is a worksheet to complete. Students should change 4 different verbs for all the subjects in Spanish. They can choose them from the list provided. It is due next Wednesday Mar 26.

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed vocab for talking about time and daily routine.
-Students practiced conversation questions in partners.
-We made study cards for common vocabulary (see list attached).
-TAREA: Students have a reading to complete. They should underline all the verbs in the reading. This is for next class, Wed Mar 26.
