AS High Beginner: Tues Mar 18

Class Activities: 

-Students received maps and a picture of the flag for Dominican Republic. They added them to their Matrix binders.
-We went over directions for the final project of 3rd quarter. Each student is assigned a Dominican baseball player to research. The project is due next Tuesday, Mar 25. If you were not in class, please see me to confirm who your player is
-TAREA: Baseball project

3rd Period Matrix: Fri Mar 14

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed meaning of verbs in the past tense.
-We read a children's book together as a class and translated it. We found many verbs we recently discussed in class.
-We went over some important vocab. Students copied down the words and meanings.
-We played a game for practice with conjugation.
-TAREA: Study the list of new vocab words

1st Period Matrix w/ Kimber: Fri Mar 14

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed vocab from our trivia sheet.
-We finished working on the trivia for Dominican Republic, and went over the answers together (if you missed class, I have attached a sheet with the answer on it)
-TAREA: Students should study the questions/answers for the trivia at home. We will have a quiz in class soon.

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and took a quiz practicing future verbs:

Students finished reading their script.

Students shared their show and tell items and we went over some vocabulary and asked questions about what students presented.

We listened to El conejito andarín which practices If/then statements with the future that we've been working on.

Tarea: no hay (since most students are involved in AS play)

Students corrected the following mistakes:

Students read a script of a play that they will practice and perform for Kimber's class in a few weeks.

Class Activities: 

-Students practiced answering questions about their daily routine in Spanish using complete sentences.
-We reviewed telling time.
-We talked about using time to talk about what time you go somewhere (Adonde vas explanation sheet attached)
-TAREA: Bring your notecards to class Wednesday; Complete the "Practica" section on the "Adonde vas?" sheet

3rd Period Matrix: Wed Mar 12

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed meanings of verbs in past tense. We reviewed the difference between preterite and imperfect verbs.
-We did an activity for speed and review.
-We discussed irregular verbs in past tense and practiced conjugating them.
-TAREA: Students need to translate the sentences in the "Practica" section on both verb pages.

2nd Period Matrix: Wed Mar 12

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed present tense verbs.
-We played a game for speed and review.
-We watched videos on how to make empanadas; We will join Nikki's class in the kitchen to put together this Argentinian treat.
-Students completed a reading.
-TAREA: Answer the question sheet on the reading (copies outside my room)
