-We discussed new vocabulary about traveling/being on vacation.
-Students began practicing a mini-dialogue in partners. We will present on Friday.

-Students received new sheets expanding on the verb "gustar" and how to talk about what you like to do (see attachment).
-Students practiced asking/answering questions using new vocabulary.

Students arrived and wrote some feedback about their classes with Karina.
Students received attached sheet and went over vocabulary and filled in any blanks. We practiced some storytelling, going over the story about which students had watched a video last week Sadako y las mil grullas de papel. Students practiced telling the story in Spanish.
Students wrote three sentences about peace on a piece of origami paper and made one final paper crane. We went over list of vocabulary related to origami (below).
Tarea: in pairs (or individually), students need to teach the group how to do a simple origami item. They need to give instructions in Spanish, using vocabulary below. While one person is giving instructions, the other should be available to go around and help students.

Students arrived and wrote some feedback in Spanish about their classes with Karina. Students learned hubiera cambiado (I would have changed).
We did some verb drilling practicing present, future (ir a + infinitivo), preterite, imperfect, present perfect. Students need to have their short lesson and activity/drill based on the tense they chose because they will present over the next few classes.
One group was tasked to come up with a map of Costa Rica, including important cities, geography (forests, oceans, rivers, mountains/volcanos). The other group needed to come up with 10 or so important historic events that shaped the country and write it on a timeline.
We are going to meet for our next class in the computer lab to finish up the map/timeline.
Tarea: make sure you have lesson/activity and write a short text describing your expo project.

-Students reviewed Latin artists we have discussed in class.
-We talked about the painting, "Las Meninas", by Velazquez, and the 44 versions that Picasso did as well. Students were interested to see the point of view in which Velazquez used to paint the royal family.
-On Thursday, students will have the class to work on their Latin artists project. They should come prepared with research in order to use this time.
-HOMEWORK: Come prepared on Thursday (see above)

Students worked in pairs to match opposite words on attached list. We went over the list as a group and made sure everyone understood them. This activity ended up taking the majority of the class. Students handed in their homework (5 sentences about a person who worked for peace).
With the remainder of our time, I gave instructions to complete our paper cranes.
Tarea: students took an additional origami paper to practice making paper cranes. We'll finish with our story of Sadako y las mil grullas de papel next class.
