Class Activities: 

Students took a quiz on countries and capitals.

We talked about Día de muertos and went over some vocabulary. Students read attached text about Jose Guadalupe Posada and answered some questions. On Wednesday next week during our Spanish class time we will be heading to the Mexican Cultural Center for their Día de muertos exhibit.

We went over the conjugation for preterite and imperfect.

Students arrived and talked in groups about:
¿Cuál es la diferencia entre Halloween y El día de los muertos?

Students practice speaking using vocabulary words about trips

On Tuesday morning we will be heading to the Mexican cultural center for a day of the dead exhibit.

Tarea: attached text about Jose Guadalupe Posada and accompanying questions

Class Activities: 

Students translated sentences using "hace...que" expressions.

Students had a few minutes to study capitals and maravillas before a competition review game.

tarea: study countries/capitals of Central and South America. Students can choose map with countries labeled or blank map (but will have to do blank map within a month or so).

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and translated sentence using either indirect, direct or direct object pronouns.

There was some confusion about pronouns so we spent some time going over it.

Students started playing a game to practice vocabulary around trips.

Tarea: 3 sentences: ¿Quién era José Guadalupe Posada?

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and wrote down how to say:
1. Bless you
2. have a good day
3. have a good trip
4. enjoy your meal
5. I don't know

We practiced the izquierda, derecha poem (attached)

We practiced the Spanish alphabet

Students played hangman practicing the alphabet and used places (like capitals, maravillas, countries) and things (nature vocabulary we learned this quarter).

Tarea: students have to play hangman with someone in their family

AS Beginner: Wed Oct 22

Class Activities: 

-We reviewed vocab from Dia Dos.
-We read together Dia Tres of the Inca Trail.
-We played a game for practice with vocab.
-TAREA: Students should complete the journal page for Dia Tres. Also, a few students had corrections to make on Dia Dos journal entries.
