Class Activities: 

Students arrived and completed attached worksheet reviewing phrases of the day.

Students learned command conjugations for tú. Conjugate present tense third person, ej. habla (talk!), escucha (listen!). The irregulars are:

Logan 3rd period Spanish with Nikki 12 de noviembre de 2014

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and read a chapter of book Pobre Ana.

We went over what we knew about the characters and what we learned about the book in the first chapter.

Students received attached list of vocabulary about music that we went over. We listened to 5 of the songs that are nominated for song of the year for Latin Grammy and will listen to the rest next class.

Students arrived and translated:

  2. What's your name?
  3. How old are you?
  4. What?
  5. Do you have pets?

I described a drawing and students drew it (reviewing nature vocabulary).

We played "El cielo es azul, cuantos años tienes tú."

We went over some vocabulary about art and then learned about Diego Velásquez.

We played a review game based on what we learned.

Students arrived and conjugated tener in the:

We went over the conjugations for tener as well as regular verb conjugations using the tenses above.

Students worked on attached worksheet in the tech lab to learn about some of the Latin Grammy artists.

3rd Period Matrix: Wed Nov 12

Class Activities: 

-Students chose a picture to describe in Spanish.
-We played a game for review with Latin Grammy vocab.
-I handed out a list of 50 common verbs in Spanish for students to begin practicing with.
-We did a listening activity with one of the songs nominated for best song of the year.

1st Period Matrix w/ Kimber: Wed Nov 12

Class Activities: 

-The class reviewed phrases from the "La bonita Sara" song.
-Students played a partner game for practice with "tener" phrases.
-A couple student presented their pages from our class book.
-I handed out explanation sheets for the verb "tener" and we practiced using it for different subjects.
-We played a different game for practice with these phrases.

AS Beginner: Wed Nov 12

Class Activities: 

-The class reviewed conversation and finished working on their cover pages for the Inca Trail journal.
-We played a review game.
-We continued our storytelling activity about Stripes the Tiger.

Students arrived and wrote definitions to words related to music which we went over. We added a few more music descriptors:

Students listened to the attached nominations for the Latin Grammy for song of the year. At the end they voted:
