AS High Beginner: Tues Oct 21

Class Activities: 

-Students answered questions to someone who was wanting to do the Camino de Santiago.
-We did a listening activity where students heard about a girl doing the Camino.
-We discussed the past tense verbs that were part of the listening activity.
-We went over the dialogue homework answers. Students should practice reading out loud at home.
-TAREA: Complete the journal pages for el Camino de Santiago.

Logan 3rd period Spanish with Nikki 15 de octubre 2014

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and conjugated an -ar, -er and -ir verb.

Students presented their part of the trip and many students did a wonderful job and clearly spent a lot of time working on their part of our trip.

Students had about 10 minutes at the end of class to practice a conversation/role play that they are in charge of having for our role play of our trip. Conversations include:
* check in (led by students who were in charge of plane tickets)
* entering plane
* being on plane
* going through customs
* breakfast at a restaurant after leaving the airport
* checking in hotel
* conversation with car rental agency

Tarea: students need to be ready for their part of next Wednesday (22 octubre) role play and should bring any visuals.

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and quizzed each other on capitals of South American countries.

We practiced conversations in a conversation circle so students got to have 4-5 short conversations.

We went over the preposition rhyme (attached).

We went over the wonders of the Spanish speaking world.

We played a review game talking about wonders of the Spanish world, vocabulary about nature, words of the day and capitals.

Tarea: students are supposed to share the rhyme we learned in class with a family member (attached)

2nd Period Matrix: Wed Oct 15

Class Activities: 

-Students practiced giving directions around the school. As a group, the students led me to different areas of the school using only Spanish.
-We played a game outside with Wonder of the World.
-Quinn led us in our daily routine.
-I explained that next week we will do an Amazing Race activity throughout the whole school, in two different teams. I will explain more next week.

1st Period Matrix w/ Kimber: Wed Oct 15

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed telling time in Spanish.
-We played Simon Dice for review with body parts and actions.
-Students practiced their song about directions.
-The class began working on their pages for the class book. Each chose a different Wonder of the World.
-We read a story out loud together.
-We played a counting game.

AS Beginner: Wed Oct 15

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed verbs in the "Nosotros" form
-We reviewed action words and learned some new ones.
-We read together Dia Dos of the Inca Trail.
-Students practice reading out loud in partners.
-TAREA: Students should complete their journal entry for Dia Dos and practice the reading out loud at home.

Students translated:

gramática: I taught the concept of how long an activity has been happening plus the idea of "ago" expressed as:
Hace (tiempo) que...
Hace 10 años que estudio español. (I've been studying Spanish for 10 years).
Hace 5 años que toco el piano (I've been playing the piano for 5 years).
Hace mucho que nos conocemos (We've known each other for a long time).
Fue a Francía hace 2 años. (I went to France 2 years ago).

Students played a vocabulary game to practice speaking.

Tarea: no hay (but text next Friday on countries and capitals).

Students arrived and practiced their countries and capitals

Tarea: make cake and meet in kids' kitchen to decorate on Thursday morning.
