3rd Period Matrix: Fri Sept 26

Class Activities: 

-Students answered questions about cities and capitals in South America.
-Maia, Miles, and Anand led a review lesson on numbers and counting.
-Burkett and Jordan led a review lesson on common phrases and classroom items.
-TAREA: Students have a reading to complete for Wednesday. If you need another copy, please come see me.

2nd Period Matrix: Fri Sept 26

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed action words and their meanings in English.
-We talked briefly about the subject and verb in a sentence, and looked at infinitive verbs.
-Hannah led us in our daily routine.
-We played a counting game.
-We finished talking about the other four wonders of the world, looking at photos of them while students took notes.
-We played a blindfold game for practice with giving someone directions.

AS Beginner: Fri Sept 26

Class Activities: 

-Students took a quiz on "Maravillas del mundo"
-The class practiced conversation questions with a partner.
-We reviewed the different wonders of the world we saw on video.
-We began talking about new vocab to prepare for our class "trip" through the Incan Trail. Students should study this vocab at home.

Students played board races to practice irregular preterite conjugations

Since we are studying Maravillas del mundo hispanohablante this quarter, students came up with the idea of making a cake in the shape of maravillas (Machu Picchu, el gran agujero azul, Tikal, etc.). We looked at the calendar and students will come to the Kids' Kitchen on Wednesday the 15th of October to work on the final touches of their cake decoration (the rest will be at home).

Tarea: students will have a quiz next Tuesday on regular and irregular preterite verb conjugations.

3rd Period Matrix: Wed Sept 24

Class Activities: 

-Students answered questions about geography involving cities, countries, and continents.
-Students split into their partner groups and finished working on their review presentations.
-We played "Dibuja" (Pictionary) with review words.
-The class will present their projects Friday and next Wednesday.

Logan 3rd period Spanish with Nikki 24 de septiembre

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and wrote down translations to some of the ingredients we worked with when making aguas frescas last week.

We played "el cielo es azul, ¿cuántos años tienes tú?"

We looked at pictures of famous places in the Spanish-speaking world and students answered questions about them.

Students started a game about geography and the places we talked about today.

Tarea: no hay (there isn't any)

Logan 1st period Spanish with Nikki 24 de septiembre

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and wrote down a three sentence description of one of the potato heads students made in the last class. We went over responses.

Two groups practiced basic conversations in Spanish.

We played "el cielo es azul, ¿cuántos años tienes tú?"

We read a book in Spanish a student had brought in reviewing animals

We looked at pictures of famous places in the Spanish-speaking world and students answered questions about them.

Students started a game about geography and the places we talked about today.

Homework: no hay (there isn't any)

Class Activities: 

Sorry students for not posting lessons until now. Today we combined our class with Kimber's and watched videos in Spanish about several of the wonders of the Spanish-speaking world, including:
* Machu Picchu
* Canal de Panamá
* El gran agujero azul
* Ruinas maya
* Las cataratas de Iguazú
* La isla de pascua
* El Salar de Uyuni

Students took notes which they handed in.

Tarea: continue to work on irregular preterite verbs since we will have a quiz next Tuesday
