AS High Beginner: Tues Nov 26

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed numbers 1-100 and practiced conversation in partners.
-Jack led our daily routine and Max shared his luchador character.
-We played a game of "futbol" with Argentina trivia.
-TAREA: Students were given back their homework of creating their own story. They need to correct mistakes and practice them out loud at home. We will present them to the class after Thanksgiving break.

Class Activities: 

-Students read Malfada comic strips, a popular one from Argentina. They explained the meaning and joke to the rest of the class.
-Students made Loteria cards with conjugated past tense verbs. We played Loteria in class.
-TAREA: study your common verb cards at home

Class Activities: 

-Students took their oral quiz on basic conversation questions.
-We reviewed the first two chapters of "Las aventuras de Isabela" with comprehension questions.
-We played a game for review with numbers 1-100.
-We looked over previous homework and discussed mistakes.
-We continued reading "Las aventuras".
-TAREA: none

1st Period Matrix w/ Kimber: Fri Nov 22

Class Activities: 

-Students answered questions about our storytelling activity last class.
-Students shared their "Como soy yo?" pages.
-We reviewed our previous homework together and discussed mistakes.
-We played a game practicing with the vocab for Argentina and command verbs.
-Students were given handouts for the months of the year and days of the week in Spanish.
-We talked about the month which has both our independence day and Argentina's independence day: July. We made calendar pages for this month and marked the dates (4 and 9) of these holidays.
-TAREA: none

AS High Beginner: Thurs Nov 21

Class Activities: 

-We talked about the Day of the Dead exhibit we visited and reviewed some vocabulary from our story last week.
-Connor led our daily routine.
-We practiced commands and conversation.
-Students were given the format to create their own silly story.
-TAREA: Create a story using the format given. We will present them in class. Also, study your facts of Argentina at home to be prepared for class activities.

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed common verbs.
-Students practiced conversation in partners.
-We discussed conversation topics as a class.
-We played a class "futbol" game with review topics and past tense verb questions.
-I handed out explanation for two types of past tense verbs. We looked over them and talked about their meanings.
-We read the Argentinian Flag Poem together.
-TAREA: Students have a worksheet to complete for Friday.

Class Activities: 

-Students wrote sentences to describe various photos and pictures. They presented them to the class.
-Students practiced conversation in partners. We will have an oral quiz on these questions on Friday.
-We began reading "Las aventuras de Isabela", a short book about a girl named Isabela. We will continue reading it on Friday.
-TAREA: Study for the oral quiz. Be able to answer the conversational questions about yourself.

1st Period Matrix w/ Kimber: Wed Nov 20

Class Activities: 

-Our class was joined by Nikki's class today.
-We taught them our song about my grandma in Argentina.
-We discussed the "futbol" competition that will begin between our classes. Classes will have 5 chances to receive points each week, as determined by Nikki or myself. If a class receives all 5 points, it is equal to one goal. The game will be posted in the hallway outside the Spanish room.
-We did a storytelling activity together.
-TAREA: none

AS Beginner: Wed Nov 20

Class Activities: 

-We reviewed conversation questions in singular and plural forms.
-We practiced the months/weather chant and sang the ABC song. Students practiced spelling their names out loud in Spanish.
-We did a storytelling activity.
-TAREA: Students have a worksheet due Friday. We will have our field trip this Friday. Students should come to school at the normal time and we will be back around 9:00am.
