3rd Period Matrix: Wed Nov 13

Class Activities: 

-Students answered questions about Dia de Tradicion and we discussed traditions in our own families and at the Logan school.
-We played Pictionary with new and review vocabulary.
-TAREA: Students have a reading to complete about Dia de Tradicion. We will discuss it on Friday.

2nd Period Matrix: Wed Nov 13

Class Activities: 

-Students translated "Hechos de Argentina" (Facts about Argentina).
-We played "Donde esta el gaucho?"
-Students read "Angelica en Argentina" and answer T/F questions. We reviewed vocab that goes along with the story.
-Students began modifying the story to fit with their own lives. We will finish this on Friday.
-TAREA: Students have a worksheet to complete for Friday.

1st Period Matrix w/ Kimber: Wed Nov 13

Class Activities: 

-Students answered questions in Spanish about our reading on Carlitos and his family in Argentina.
-We discussed important vocab words dealing with Argentina's culture.
-Students practiced conversation in partners.
-Students read from our class book.
-We talked about an important holiday in Argentina, el Dia de Tradicion, which celebrates culture and traditions. We shared traditions that our families have and that the Logan school has.
-Students were given maps of Argentina.
-We sang a song about a grandma in Argentina.
-TAREA: Students have a worksheet to complete for Friday. Extra copies are outside my room, or can be printed here.

AS High Beginner: Tues Nov 12

Class Activities: 

-We reviewed vocab from our story last week.
-Students began presenting their luchador characters in class.
-We played a game for vocab practice.
-We did more of our storytelling activity.
-TAREA: fill out the "Hechos de Argentina" sheet using online resources at home

Logan before school intermediates 13 de noviembre de 2013

Class Activities: 

Kimber taught our class today and I taught hers. We just wanted to mix it up for students and to get a different teaching style and to get to know the other teacher.

The first activity was to practice time vocabulary we had reviewed last class.

Students played Simon dice and scategories to practice vocabulary.

Homework is to complete Argentine trivia (attached)

Class Activities: 

Students arrived and wrote the conjugations for:
*futuro próximo
* pretérito
* presente
* imperfecto

frase del día: dormir como un tronco

We practiced verb conjugations by doing a little board race competition

We went to the computer lab and students combined their clues for Argentine trivia and passed them out to other students.

Tarea: finish La maldición de la cabeza reducida

3rd Period Matrix: Wed Nov 6

Class Activities: 

-Students finished working on their verb cards.
-We practiced with the most common verbs.
-Students got back their quizzes and looked over mistakes.
-We talked about the 2nd quarter theme, Argentina. Students were given a map of Argentina and a vocab list of words we'll use in class. We read a story about a boy named Fede.
-TAREA: none. finish verb cards at home if you haven't yet

Class Activities: 

-Students wrote sentences on what they learned about Mexico last quarter.
-We practiced verb commands.
-We practiced the alphabet and took turns spelling our names out loud in Spanish.
-We talked about the 2nd quarter theme, Argentina. Students were given maps and practiced spelling city names in partners.
-TAREA: none

Class Activities: 

-Students reviewed basic conversation questions.
-We talked about all the things we learned last quarter about Mexico.
-We played Simon Dice.
-We began reading from our class book, Como soy yo?. Students will present their pages to the class.
-We talked about the 2nd quarter theme, Argentina. Students read about Carlitos who lives in Pampas. We compared and contrasted his daily lifestyle to ours.
