The intermediate group will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 5-6:30pm, starting October 15th.

This eight week series of classes is for students who are comfortable speaking in the present, familiar with speaking in the past and who have a good handle on colors, days, time, numbers, preferences and likes, common adjectives and a good base of vocabulary.

Get ready for your next trip to the Spanish-speaking world with Spanish for Travelers, Monday nights from 5-6:15pm starting October 20th. The 8-week series will meet weekly and will last through December 8th.

Most travelers would agree that a grasp of conversational and transactional Spanish makes a trip to Latin America or Spain less stressful and more enjoyable. You will feel more in control of your trip and be able to connect to the culture through an understanding of the language, and locals appreciate your effort as well.

Travel classes will cover:

  • Practicing logistical conversations: ordering at a restaurant, buying a ticket and making a reservation
  • Getting and understanding directions
  • Expressing wants, needs, and preferences
  • Having basic conversations

Advanced Spanish: working toward native-like fluency

Class Description

This class will be ongoing for high intermediate and advanced students wanting to work toward native-like fluency. The class will meet Wednesday nights from 7-8:30pm.

The class will focus on strengthening the four language skills: reading, speaking, listening, and writing. We will work on learning slang, idioms, and expressions from all over the Spanish-speaking world. We will also practice advanced grammatical concepts such as the imperfect of the subjunctive and verb/preposition combinations. The class will also read and discuss articles about the varied music, tradition, holidays, and other cultural aspects of Latin America and Spain.

Taught by a native speaker from Spain, this class will meet weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30pm.

High Beginner Spanish

Course Description

This class is designed for students who have studied beginner Spanish (covering basic vocabulary, days of week, months of the year, numbers, regular verbs in the present and common irregular verbs including ser and estar).

This Wednesday night course will expand your vocabulary and cover:

  • Irregular verbs in the present
  • Speaking about the future
  • Comparative and superlative adjectives
  • Speaking in the past
  • Common phrases and expressions
  • More in-depth conversations

Taught by a native speaker from Spain, we will use articles, songs, listening exercises as well as writing, speaking and listening exercises throughout the course.

We will meet Wednesday nights from 5:15-6:45pm except for weeks of major holidays.

Class Pricing

The beginner series includes eight weeks of 90 minute weekly classes. The total cost for the series is $144, payable in one payment or two payments of $75 (total $150).

Business Spanish for beginners

Class Information

This lunch-hour class will focus on Spanish for people planning to do business with Spanish-speaking countries, and will cover:

  • Basic conversations
  • Cultural differences related to business
  • Business-related vocabulary
  • Verbs: speaking in the present and making future plans

The series will meet weekly on Mondays from 12-1pm from September 29th through November 17th at the Denver Spanish House office.

Picasso's Guernica and the Politics of Franquismo: This free event will focus on one of Picasso's most famous works of art and its historic significance. Presented by Natalie Romano, the event will be Friday September 12th from 7-8pm at the Denver Spanish House office. Space is limited, so sign up soon!

Usar el formula: ¿Te gusta el chocolate? Sí, me gusta el chocolate o No, no me gusta el chocolate. Agregar "me encanta" y "odio".
